When exactly the next World Series champion could be crowned is finally known.
Major League Baseball announced its 2025 postseason schedule on Tuesday, August 12, releasing all the dates, off days and broadcast information for the American and National League wild card, division series, league championship series, as well as the 121st World Series.
MLB playoff action gets underway this year with Game 1 for all four AL and NL wild-card series on Tuesday, September 30. Game 1 of the 2025 World Series is scheduled to start less than a month later, and a potential Game 7 in MLB’s Fall Classic could again stretch the season into November.
The Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners lead the crowded pack of teams trying to claim an AL postseason spot. The Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs are in good position in the NL playoff race.

AL and NL Wild Card Series (Best-of-3)
All four 2025 MLB wild card series begin on Tuesday, September 30 with every game broadcast on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.

- October 1: ALWC A & B Game 2, NLWC A & B Game 2
- October 2: ALWC A & B Game 3 (if necessary), NLWC A & B Game 3 (if necessary)
AL and NL Division Series (Best-of-5)
Game 1 of every division series is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 4, with a potential Game 5 on Friday, October 10 (ALDS) and Saturday, October 11 (NLDS). FOX or FS1, along with FOX Deportes, will combine to broadcast the two ALDS series. TNT, TBS, truTV and HBO MAX will combine to broadcast the two NLDS series.

The American League Championship Series will begin on Sunday, October 12 and the series will be broadcast by FOX or FS1, along with FOX Deportes. A potential Game 7 of the ALCS is scheduled for Monday, October 20. The National League Championship Series is scheduled to start on Monday, October 13 and will be broadcast by TNT, TBS, truTV and HBO MAX. A potential NLCS Game 7 would be played on Tuesday, October 21.

Game 1 of the 2025 World Series is set for Friday, October 24 at the home field of the league champion with the better regular-season record. A potential Game 7 to determine the 2025 World Series champion would be played on Saturday, November 1. The scheduled off days during the World Series are Sunday, October 26 and Thursday, October 30 (if there’s a Game 6).
FOX, along with FOX Deportes, will broadcast the World Series for the 28th time, according to the MLB release. You can also live stream the World Series with Fubo.
