Fantasy football Week 14 studs, duds and sleepers

When it comes to competition, one of the best ways to get an edge on the opposition is through prior preparation. In fantasy football, that way of thinking certainly applies. Here at Bet For The Win, we’re doing the preparation for you.

With five weeks left in the NFL’s regular season, fantasy football playoffs are either already here or just around the corner, depending on league setups. Either way, it’s money time.

You need guidance on which players to ride with and which to leave on the bench during this pivotal fantasy football week. We’ve got you covered.

Here’s our advice for Week 14.

Studs

QB Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins

Fully expect Tua to bounce back from Week 13’s mediocre performance for his Sunday-night primetime matchup against fellow draft-classmate Justin Herbert. On top of that, the Chargers’ defense shouldn’t be able to slow Miami’s passing attack.

RB Austin Ekeler – Los Angeles Chargers

As the Chargers officially enter desperation mode with five weeks left in the season, the do-it-all back will continue to do receive a ton of work in the Los Angeles’ offense. Expect him to get it done both on the ground and as a pass catcher.

WR A.J. Brown – Philadelphia Eagles

Brown won’t be facing his former team this weekend but will see a Giants defense that has given up back-to-back 240-passing-yard, 2-touchdown-pass games.

TE Mark Andrews – Baltimore Ravens

Andrews was really good a season ago with Tyler Huntley taking QB1 snaps. Expect Huntley to make the most of his go-to target this weekend against the Steelers.

Duds

QB Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals

It’s no easy task for quarterbacks to find success against New England’s defense. Given where Arizona is at in its season, it feels like this is a matchup for Murray that fantasy managers should probably stay away from.

RB Isiah Pacheco – Kansas City Chiefs

Simply put, the Denver Broncos’ defense is legit. If the Chiefs have success against it, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will probably be the reasons why. Not a relatively unproven rookie RB.

WR Mike Evans – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

What’s going on with Mike Evans? Make it four-straight games for him with five or fewer catches, under 60 receiving yards and zero touchdowns. It won’t get any easier this week against San Francisco’s defense.

TE George Kittle – San Francisco 49ers

With Jimmy G out for the foreseeable future, do you trust a third-string quarterback to get Kittle the football?

Sleepers

QB Derek Carr – Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders are hot (even though it may be too late in the season) and the Derek Carr-Davante Adams connection is thriving. Carr may be able to deliver against a struggling Rams team.

RB Tony Pollard – Dallas Cowboys

This should be the most lopsided game of the week. If Tony Pollard doesn’t get it done when the game is respectable, he will once this game inevitably hits garbage time.

WR D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers

Small sample size this season, but in the one game that Sam Darnold started at quarterback (Week 12), Moore went off. The two did have chemistry early last season, so it’s fair to be optimistic that Moore could have a big game Sunday.

TE T.J. Hockenson – Minnesota Vikings

I’m choosing to play up the revenge-game narrative.
